Colleen and Jack’s Milwaukee Art Museum wedding was a beautiful and emotional day for everyone involved — even their vendor team, who had navigated 18 months of postponement before finally assembling to give them the celebration they deserved last fall. After eloping on their original March 2020 date, there was even an extra guest of honor: the couple’s son made a cameo in the day. A Fresh Event traveled up to Milwaukee to bring together their wedding in the breathtaking Quadracci Pavilion, followed by a room flip, dinner and dancing. This group put a good time before everything else, and we just couldn’t be happier that they finally got the big celebration they wanted!

A Very Special A Fresh Event Couple
Jen first met Colleen and Jack when she coordinated Colleen’s twin sister’s wedding a few years earlier. Colleen was the maid of honor, and Jack was the best man. (Adorable, right?) As soon as Jack popped the question, Colleen speed-dialed Jen and the three of them got to planning. Jen had always longed for one of her couples to host their wedding at the Milwaukee Art Museum (the city where Jen got her start in wedding planning). So, when C&J suggested Milwaukee as a possible location for their day, Jen knew that this was the couple to make her wedding planning dreams come true.
They were set to get married at the end of March 2020. And, as it would turn out, they would become the first AFE couple to have to postpone their wedding dates — in the turbulence of 2020, we had to do it not once, but twice. So, when their wedding day finally came to fruition in October of 2021, to say it was a highly emotional and extremely important day to Jen would be an understatement. Jack, Colleen, and their wedding weekend will always hold a very special place in Jen’s heart because they were the first couple to have to face the unimaginable, and they did so with such grace.

Kind Words from the Bride
“… Jen is the sole reason our wedding even happened. Before COVID I already had so many good things to say about her- she was organized, systematic, and she had a way of leaving the decision-making to us but guiding us in the most gentle way, already probably knowing what we’d decide even before we did… I physically felt a weight lifted off my shoulders the day we first sat down to talk. Then COVID hit. Jen handled everything. I think she probably did more than she even should have but it’s because she cared SO MUCH. She moved our wedding date 4 times. And a 1-year planning journey suddenly became 3. And she never lost steam. She never acted frustrated even when we were. She never lost track of all the tiny details even though we did. She made what should have been disastrous in the end even more wonderful than we would have imagined.” (Read Colleen’s full review and more on The Knot!)

Congratulations to Colleen and Jack! We wish you and your family nothing but the absolute best.
